The Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo Internship Program is designed to provide Interns with practical experience on all aspects of running an Aquarium. Interns will learn and have the opportunity to gain practical working experience within the curatorial, guest services and management departments, providing a well rounded experience.
Interns can request specific department focus (such as Curatorial or Education) for their internship based on their areas of interest.
Intern Requirements:
Must be at least 16 years of age
Currently studying as a Secondary or University Student (preferably a Marine Science or Tourism subject)
Physically fit (Medical Certificate may be required)
Excellent communication skills (Spoken English language is a must, Arabic desirable)
Ability to commit to a minimum of a 2-week program (between the hours of 8.30am – 6pm)
A minimum commitment of 40 hours a week
Ability to work or study within the UAE (Copy of Passport and visa status must be provided)
Open Water Dive License desirable, but not essential
Ability to follow strict Occupational Health and Safety guidelines
Interns must be prepared to participate in ‘hands on’ work, which will involve animal food preparation, cleaning, getting wet or any other physical tasks as required. Due to the health and safety of the animals, Interns must note that they will not have any direct contact with any animal during their internship.
